Kane County Chronicle | Maple Park car business keeps it in the family

MAPLE PARK – Theresa Miller and her father will do the legwork of putting you into a used car.

Miller is co-owner of Last Chance Auto Sales, which opened in March at 807 S. County Line Road in Maple Park, next to Casey’s General Store. Her father, Earl Thorne, owns the lot.

They are familiar faces in the village as longtime Maple Park residents.

“All people have to do is give us an idea of what they want and what they want to pay,” Miller said. “We have the capability to go to different dealer auctions and deal with different brokers. We can go do the hunt for them.”

Besides being able to find a specific car for a customer, Last Chance Auto also can help with financing on certain vehicles, Miller said.

“We are willing to work with anybody,” she said.

This is Thorne’s second business. He also owns DIR Installations in Maple Park, a pallet-racking business. Miller’s husband, Bryan Miller, is general manager of the company.

Theresa Miller said her 58-year-old father started the car business as something to do in his retirement.

“He wanted to do something less physical,” she said. “He just had back surgery. He needs something to do in retirement. He’s not a sit-around-and-play-golf type of guy.”

Thorne couldn’t be reached for comment.

Last Chance Auto Sales is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and also by appointment.

The business has a Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LastChanceAutoSalesInc, which features photos of vehicles in its inventory.

More information is available by calling Last Chance Auto at 815-827-5278.
